Welcome from the Chairman of the Friends of Ness Gardens

I am delighted to be Chairman of the Friends of Ness
Gardens and hope that current and future Friends will take part in
the number of events which will be happening over the forthcoming
months.
Whilst economic pressures are affecting us all in different
ways, the Friends can ensure that Ness Botanic Gardens can be
secure in the knowledge that it has a large number of supporters to
help facilities for visitors to the highest possible
standard.
The current financial support given to the Gardens by the
Friends is varied and ranges from key pieces of garden equipment,
major garden features such as the Pingo and Chris Beardshaw's award
winning Ness Botanische, the development of a new website to the
funding of future horticultural professionals through the Ken Hulme
Student Bursary. The £2.1 million of funding given by the
Friends Society since it was established in 1962, is a significant
factor in the on-going development of Ness Botanic
Gardens.
We very much look forward to welcoming you to the
Gardens.
