Days out

Logo GentianOne of the many benefits of being a Friend of Ness Gardens is the programme of coach trips to visit venues in England and Wales.

The first Friends' planned coach trip was 3-7 September 1989 when spare places were offered to Friends for the University's Amateur Gardeners Holiday - visits to Arley Hall, Bodnant and Ness cost £54 +vat with accommodation at a Hall of Residence.

The current programme of coach trips started in 1992 with over 160 different gardens visited over the years.

A big thank you to Lindsay Price, who successfully planned and organised these trips over the past 10 years.

Now that Lindsay has stepped down from the role of trip organiser, a new trio of Friends - Brenda Marshall, Wendy Jones and Judith Wheat have worked together to provide a programme of garden visits for you to enjoy this year. We do hope you will find excursions that inspire you to come along.
