Why your membership matters
Established in 1962 to support the work of staff and
volunteers, over the years the Friends have supported many
significant projects in the Gardens with over £2.1 million
worth of funding.
80p out of every £1 membership goes directly to support the running and
maintenance of the Gardens.
20p out of every £1 membership contributes towards
grants for specific projects.
In 2012-2013, these have included funding the Making Waves
garden, the awarding winning Taste of Ness show garden at RHS
Tatton Flower Show, funding the Wilderness project, improvements to
the terraces/pinewoods and student bursaries
Past projects supported by the Friends include the
Wildflower Meadows, the award winning Ness Botanische garden and
installation of the Pingo waterfall.
