Why your membership matters

Friends of Ness Gardens are at the forefront of supporting and developing Ness for years to come. Established in 1962 to support the work of staff and volunteers, over the years the Friends have supported many significant projects in the Gardens.

80p out of every £1 of your membership fee goes directly to support the running and maintenance of the Gardens.

20p out of every £1 of your membership fee contributes towards grants for specific projects.

Projects supported by the Friends have included: Wildflower Meadows, award winning show gardens at RHS Tatton Flower Show, improvements to the terraces and pinewoods and more recently, upgrading the AV system in the lecture theatre, installation of the Hulme Conservatory deck, funding vital composting equipment as well as the Ken Hulme Student Bursary.
