Why your membership matters

Established in 1962 to support the work of staff and volunteers, over the years the Friends have supported many significant projects in the Gardens with over £3 million of funds given.

80p out of every £1 of your membership fee goes directly to support the running and maintenance of the Gardens.

20p out of every £1 of your membership fee contributes towards grants requested by the Gardens for specific projects, awarded by the Trustees of the Society.

Projects supported by the Friends have included: Wildflower Meadows, award winning show gardens at Tatton Park RHS Flower Show, improvements to the Terraces and more recently, upgrading the AV system in the Lecture Theatre, installation of the Hulme Deck and funding vital composting equipment.
