Garden hosts International Exhibition

For the first time an exhibition of stunning images from the acclaimed International Garden Photographer of the Year (IGPOTY) competition is being held at Ness Botanic Gardens and runs until Sunday 29 November. The exhibition comprises of 26 inspirational garden and plant images from across the world.

The competition, now in its ninth year, attracts over 20,000 entries from around 30 countries across eight different categories. Following the unveiling of the results at the annual exhibition at Royal Botanic gardens, Kew, the finalists and winning images take part in a touring exhibition held in venues across the world.

The International Garden Photographer of the Year competition was set up by five members of the Garden Photographers Association in 2007. Its first exhibition took place at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, in May 2008 and it has established itself as the world's leading garden and plant photography event.

The exhibition, the first time it has been displayed at Ness, is situated at the entrance to the Garden overlooking the Dee estuary and entry is included in the Garden Admission price.
