Tuesday's are Garden improvement days

The Gardens will be open six days a week, closing on Tuesdays, from 1 March 2014.

The Horsfall Rushby Visitor Centre incorporating The Garden Kitchen, Gift Shop and Plant Centre will remain open seven days a week.

The Tuesday closure day will be used to carry out essential garden maintenance work, staff training and project work.  The Gardens will remain open to the public, University staff and students, and Friends of Ness Gardens from Wednesday to Monday until 31st October.

Ness has placed a bid with the Heritage Lottery Fund to provide new glasshouses and visitor facilities in the heart of the garden, which will offer essential wet weather options.  If successful, it will provide more resources to attract visitors to Ness during the winter season.

Ness aims to establish a new era in visitor enjoyment and member support to ensure that the legacy of Arthur Bulley endures as a horticultural and heritage asset.
