Accessibility at Ness
Access to the gardens for disabled and pushchair users is shown
below with the main paths in red allowing viewing of many
different parts of the garden.
See our Garden maps for the mobility route map below (or
click the 'Garden Map' button to the right) or ask for a copy
when you arrive. However due to the topography of the site
there will always be some areas which will remain inaccessible to
wheelchairs i.e. terraces.
For alternative access please ask at the admissions desk when
you arrive.
Wheelchairs and electric scooters are available to pre-book,
please telephone 0845 0304063 (calls charged at local rate).
Only guide/helper dogs are allowed into the Gardens. Dogs
are welcome to exercise in the public right of way area
next to the car park (previously the Herb Garden). There are
shaded areas in the car park for cool parking. Roses Tea
Rooms are happy to supply bowls of water and doggy treats for
customers using the outdoor area at the front of the Visitor
Centre.
There are bike locking areas at the front of the Visitor Centre
and in the coach carpark as Ness is an ideal stop off for
a bike ride.
For our younger
visitors
Enjoy
the new children's play area, find your way to the centre of
the labyrinth where you can play freely. Visit our chickens
who are thriving after being rescued from a battery farm.
Tricycles with parent handles and scooters - parents
please take care due to the steep slopes and to help all
visitors enjoy Ness.
