Parking at Ness

All car parking at Ness Botanic Gardens is free. There are eight extra wide disabled parking bays in our main car park directly in front of the Visitors Centre (the right hand car park as you drive in from the road). If these are full, please ask our admissions staff if you required any extra assistance.

Getting around at Ness

Access to the gardens for disabled and pushchair users is shown on our visitor map avaible from the admission desk allowing viewing of many different parts of the garden.  However due to the topography of the site there will always be some areas which will remain inaccessible to wheelchairs.

Wheelchairs and electric scooters are available to pre-book, please contact us before your visit.

Please note that the scooters are provided to help visitors with limited mobility who find it difficult to walk long distances, but are otherwise able and have reasonable eyesight, reactions and hand grasp. You are also welcome to bring your own scooter if it is a pavement-use mobility scooter limited to 4mph.

There are approximately 200 benches sited around the garden at regular intervals.

Assistance dogs are welcome in all areas of the garden and buildings including the Visitor Centre.

Toilets

You will find accessible toilet facilities in the Visitor Centre and in the Gardens at the bottom of the Herbaceous Area.
