Opening Times & Admissions

Dogs die in hot cars

At present dogs are not allowed in the main area of the Garden except assistance dogs. There is an outside café area and our Laburnum arch lawn, both of which provide welcoming outside space for our four legged friends. We are happy to provide fresh water for dogs upon request. Please keep your dog on a short lead and under close control at all times.

Never leave your dog alone in a car on a warm day even if the windows are left open or they're parked in the shade. When it's 22 degrees, in a car it can reach an unbearable 47 degrees within the hour.

If you see a dog in distress in a hot car, dial 999 immediately

Warning signs of heatstroke:

  • Is the dog panting heavily?
  • Is the dog drooling excessively?
  • Does the dog appear lethargic, drowsy or uncoordinated?
  • Is the dog collapsed or vomiting?

We are open 7 days a week with the exception of the Christmas Holidays.
