Thornton Manor and the Art and Craft of Garden Making'; Nick Lightfoot & Gavin Hunter. The garden at Thornton Manor is one of many designed by Thomas Mawson, the most celebrated garden designer and landscape architect of the Edwardian Era. Nick Lightfoot is the Gardens and Collection Manager here at Ness. Gavin Hunter is a well known Wirral historian with a special interest in the estates of Lord Leverhulme.

Ireland's generous Nature: Irish Gardens and Plant Lore; John Edmondson

'Wildlife of Ness: a Biodiversity Hotspot'.

The results of Bioblitz Day, 14 June 2014, when 60 wildlife experts descended on Ness Gardens and identified every plant and animal species found here. Phil Putwain is an ecological consultant, ex-Liverpool University Lecturer, and heavily involved in the Wilder-Ness Project.
