Get started on this fascinating craft with expert guidance from
renowned wood carver John White. Students will learn basic
carving methods and produce a pattern board of basic cuts and a
relief carving of an owl.
The course is taught over two days Saturday 13 and Sunday 14
All students will require to bring the following:
- Pencil, rubber & ruler
- Tracing paper
- Carbon paper (not essential)
- Note book
- Sketch book
- Any carving tools they may have
- Any sharpening equipment.
Day 1 - basic techniques, pattern development and tool
Day 2 - relief carving techniques and the production of an owl
in low relief.
Who is it suitable for?
18+. There are no formal entry requirements; all you need is an
interest in learning how to carve wood! This course is suitable for
complete beginners or those with a little experience.
