Design your Garden in a Weekend

03 September 2016 10:00 - 04 September 2016 00:00

Designing a garden from scratch can be a challenge - and it's often difficult to know where to start. Get expert advice from RHS Gold medalist Pip Probert on how to design your garden, with ideas and practical tips on garden planning on this new weekend course.

This is a two day course on Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th September (10am - 4pm)

Course Overview

The course is taught through both talks and practical exercises.  Over the weekend you will have a brief run through the fundamental elements in Garden Design and then put what you have learnt into practical use. Please bring with you dimensions and photographs of the garden you wish to design with you on the course.

Saturday -  We will cover the basic principles of Garden Design, Materials, Styles and the features that define them.  Planting styles are also covered briefly, but this is something that can be learnt in a follow up course at Ness Gardens.

Sunday -  We will use various drawing exercises to help you understand how to complete a design drawing.  The main bulk of the day will be dedicated to you designing your own garden with the help of Pip.  Where you can benefit from 1 to 1 advice and design ideas.  (You will need to bring dimensions and photographs of the garden you wish to design with you on the course).

Who is it suitable for?
