Gardens & Designed Landscapes

Discover some of the internationally important gardens and designed landscapes found on the Wirral.

This is a evening lecture on Thursday 8 Febuary (7-9pm), held at the University's main campus in Liverpool.

Join Ness Garden Manager Nick Lightfoot to explore some of the great private gardens of the wirral, including that designed by Thomas Mawson for William Lever at Thornton Manor, and Arthur Bulley's Ness Gardens (now the University of Liverpool's Botanic Garden); as well as public spaces including the famous Birkenhead Park.

This is the first of four lectures in a new Horticulture & Botany Series delivered by Ness Botanic Gardens staff at the University of Liverpool's main campus. In addition, there are two one day courses offer practical gardening and design advice. Details can be found here.


Who is it suitable for?

18+. There are no formal entry requirements, just a love of plants & gardening

What does it cost?

£9 (No concessions) per lecture or £30 for the entire series of 4 lectures.
