Herbaceous Borders

Saturday 21 July 2018 10:00 - Saturday 21 July 2018 16:00

Set against the backdrop of the herbaceous plantings at Ness, you will learn how to develop a herbaceous border, big or small, from scratch.

Traditionally thought of as adding interest just to summer borders. Perennials are often assumed to be high maintenance because of a few plants that need to be staked, deadheaded and pampered to look good. Forget these misleading notions and discover the delights of herbaceous perennials which can be used all year round to add colour and structure, attract wildlife and are in fact very low maintenance.

This is a one day course on Saturday 21 July (10am-4pm)

The course is taught through talks, demonstrations and a range of activities both in the classroom and out in the gardens (weather permitting).  Please come dressed in suitable clothing for the weather and bring pen, paper and a pair of secateurs if you have them.
