Are you new to gardening, don't where to start or just wanting to refresh your knowledge?  This introductory course acts as a comprehensive guide covering all the basics of gardening.

The course starts on Thursday 20 September. 10 weekly sessions (No teaching Thursday 25 October and Thursday 1 November).

Course Overview

The course is taught through talks; demonstrations and a range of activities both in the classroom and out in the gardens (weather permitting).  Please come dressed in suitable clothing for the weather (i.e. waterproof jackets and wear suitable shoes). Also bring pen and paper.

Week 2 - Understanding your garden

Week 3 - Looking after your soil

Week 4 - Choosing plants

Week 5 - Planting and aftercare

Week 6 - Pruning

Week 7 - Keeping your plants healthy

Week 8 - Propagation

Week 9 - Happy Lawns

Week 10 - Containers & Hanging baskets


Who is this suitable for?

18+. There are no formal entry requirements; all you need is an interest in plants. No previous experience needed.

£75 (£65 Friends of Ness Gardens)
