Herbaceous Borders

In this half day course you will learn how to develop a
herbaceous border, big or small, from scratch. Set against the
backdrop of the herbaceous plantings at Ness, this course will
cover basic design principles, plant selection, soil preparation,
and planting methods that will help you create a stunning but low
maintenance border.
The course will include an illustrated talk, and a tour of
the herbaceous areas giving you the opportunity to find out how
they were planned and developed, and how we maximize interest all
year round.
There are no formal entry requirements; all you need is an
interest in plants and gardening. Some of the session will be
outdoors in the gardens (weather permitting) so please come dressed
in suitable clothing and footwear.
